"Our American Hero"

Dearest Doll Fans,                                                       3/6/2010

In a Japanese tea room, a mariachi band plays, Elvis sings along and The Manhattan Dolls welcome home American hero, Sergeant first class Lou Lalux.

Sergeant Lalux has finally returned home from a tour of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.  We were honored to be invited to this great celebration welcoming him home.  The event took place in the Hilton Garden Inn on Staten Island in a Japanese inspired ballroom.  There was a beautiful garden area with a bridge where we took a few pictures.  Luckily it was the first nice day of the year!

The event began with the color guard from Francis Lewis Jr. High School, Junior ROTC.  We sang our unique arrangement of the National Anthem and then the festivities were underway!  Oh the cheese!  Oh the crudités!

We performed our half hour show to a warm response and then got to take pictures with Sergeant Lalux and his wife.  We even got to pose with the color guards!  After our show, a four piece mariachi band, Mariachi Citalli played.  They had this gigantic guitaron that I was obsessed with.  The Elvis performer, Gene DiNapoli was next and the afternoon commenced with my plate of short ribs.  No better way to make this Doll happy than to feed me well!

What a lovely day to welcome home a war hero!
Until we sing again,
Annemarie Rosano, Manhattan Doll
